2008 Teacher of the Year Nominee


Joe Fagnant, HHS Band Director was nominated by MSAD #29 for the Maine 2008 Teacher of the Year Program.  There were eighteen teachers from around the state selected as part of the first round awards process.  Mr. Fagnant is the only teacher selected from Aroostook County. An awards ceremony and viewing of teacher's displays took place on April 4th at the State House in Augusta.

Meet Joe Fagnant!

Joe Fagnant, a native of Rhode Island, graduated from the University of Maine with a bachelor’s of music in Music Education in 1993.  While at the University, he performed with al the major musical ensembles, was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity, and was inducted in the Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Kappa Lambda honor societies.  He also served as an instructor and counselor at the Maine Summer youth Music Junior Camp at the University of Maine.

Mr. Fagnant is pleased to have been involved in the MSAD #29 Music department for over fifteen years. 

He is the department chairperson and works with the following groups:
